A practical visitor guide to the Kia Forum

The Kia Forum is at 3900 W Manchester Blvd., at the corner of Manchester Boulevard and Prairie Avenue in Inglewood. The venue first opened on December 30, 1967, for a Los Angeles Kings hockey game.

It later served as home to the Los Angeles Kings and Los Angeles Lakers, and hosted basketball tournaments and men’s handball finals at the 1984 Summer Olympics.

Two other major venues are in the area: SoFi Stadium in Inglewood and YouTube Theater. Check which venue is hosting your event when planning your arrival.

The Kia Forum is about a 9-minute walk from a motel in Inglewood.

For a car approach, the venue’s directions vary by freeway. From the 405 North, take the Manchester exit and continue east on Manchester Boulevard; from the 405 South, take the Manchester/Florence exit and continue east.

From the 110 North or South, take the Manchester exit and head west to Prairie Avenue. From the 105 East or West, take the Prairie Avenue exit and head north.

The venue is also about a 14-minute walk from YouTube Theater, so if your plans include both venues, account for the walk between them; the YouTube Theater guide covers that venue.

All Kia Forum tickets are mobile; screenshots and printouts are not accepted. For age-restricted events, bring a valid government-issued ID, and remember that everyone needs a ticket regardless of age. Walk-through metal detectors, hand wands and other security devices are used, so arrive early to allow time for screening.

The venue accepts clear bags up to 12 x 6 x 12 inches and small non-clear clutches or wristlets up to 9 x 6 inches.

Diaper and medical bags are permitted when accompanied by the guest using them, and all bags are subject to search, including x-ray screening. Factory-sealed water bottles up to 20 ounces are allowed; outside food and other beverages are not.

The Kia Forum is cashless: major credit, debit and mobile payments are accepted, with cash-to-card conversion kiosks inside. Professional cameras with detachable or telephoto lenses, video cameras, recording devices, GoPros, tripods, monopods and selfie sticks are prohibited, though photography rules may vary by event.

The prohibited-items list also includes weapons, pepper spray, laptops, computers, tablets, glass, cans, coolers, skateboards and hoverboards; restrictions may differ by show. Only service animals are permitted inside.

Onsite parking is available, with vehicle access through gates on Prairie Avenue or Kareem Court. Cash and major credit cards are accepted at onsite and offsite parking lots. Prepaid parking is offered through JustPark, the venue’s official parking partner, with availability selected by event date.

Drop-offs are permitted at all entrances. For rideshare pickups, use the dedicated lot, Lot H, at Pincay Drive and Prairie Avenue. Metro bus lines 211 and 215 serve the area, with stops at Prairie/Manchester or Prairie/Kelso.

Show-specific rules can affect bags, cameras and other entry policies, and the terrace opening time can vary by event.

The Box Office is listed as open Fridays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on show days from 12 p.m. until the start of the show, but its hours are subject to change. Check the official site before you go.
